Conveyor Design Requirements To Maximize Accuracy of All Belt Scales
- Avoid High Speed
- Belt Speed Should Not Exceed 300 fpm on Belts <25' in Length
- Use Well Balanced (Concentric) Idlers to Minimize Vibration
- Conveyor Should be of a Rigid Design and Free of Vibration
- Belt Tension Must Remain Consistent
- The Empty Belt Must be in Contact with Idler at all Times
- Belt Must Track in the Center of Idlers (Both Empty and Full)
- Conveyor loading must be uniform and as far from the scale as possible
- Conveyor angle should not exceed angle of material slide
- Maximum Idler Trough Angle should be 35%
- Material Build-up on the Belt should be Minimized
- The Scale should be Installed as far from head and tail pulley as possible
